Dr Moira Hamilton graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours in 1990, and has been caring for Gold Coast families ever since.
Kind, gentle and compassionate, Moira looks after patients of every age — from the very young to the very old and everyone in between — with a personalised, evidence-based approach. She is known for her warm, caring nature and for taking the time to build lasting, trusting relationships, so that patients feel relaxed and well-informed throughout their treatment.
Moira practises all aspects of general dentistry with a strong preventive focus. Her special interests include saving teeth, complex restorative work, oral surgery, the treatment of gum disease, and caring for patients with complex medical conditions — the kind of thoughtful, careful dentistry that keeps smiles healthy for the long term.
She has been in private practice on the Gold Coast since 1993, and practised alongside her husband, Dr Peter Barry, from 2001. After 25 years working side by side, Peter has retired — and both Moira and Peter are delighted to welcome Dr Zaid Al Momani to the practice, and to see the care they built continue in such good hands.
For five years, Moira also held a part-time role providing clinical supervision to final-year dental students at Griffith University. Her early career was spent with Queensland Health, with postings to the School Dental Service in Mount Isa and, later, the adult clinic at Townsville Hospital.
Away from the chair, you'll find Moira on the tennis court, at the gym or in a yoga class, out walking the dog, or spending time with her family — her twin boys are now grown up and building careers of their own.
We'd love for you to come in and meet Dr Moira.
